Access Artist, XPAuthor, Creator, etc EXIF fields with osxphotos query/export/etc

I'm starting ti set and use the following EXIF, XMP fields to register the family member author of the pics.

Could we add them to PhotoInfo?

No. The purpose of PhotoInfo is to expose information known by Photos about each asset. Photos does not know about these tags. At the time import Photos reads a subset of tags from the EXIF/IPTC/XMP metadata of the file being imported which includes the date/time, location, and camera related info. These are available in the PhotoInfo.exif_info property. If it's not one of these tags, then Photos does not know about it.

How to access them?

EXIF and related tag info can be access a few ways via the template system. If the tag is one of those imported by Photos that's available via the exif_info property, you can access it thusly:

{photo.exif_info.white_balance}

A subset of these are available in the {exif} template:

{exif.camera_make}

You can access arbitrary EXIF/IPTC/XMP tags using the {exiftool} template. You must provide the tag group as part of the tag name:

{exiftool:XMP:Creator}

Note that this requires calling exiftool on every asset being processed. The results are cached so subsequent uses of {exiftool} on an asset (during the same query/export) do not impose a penalty but it still will slow down the query. If the tag does not exist or has no value, the result will be null so you can use the usual template system default handling, for example:

{exiftool:XMP:Creator,No Creator}

If you want to query these values you can use --query-eval but you must place a guard to ensure the photo path exists as photo.exiftool returns None if there is no photo path to run exiftool against:

osxphotos query --query-eval "photo.path and 'XMP:Creator' in photo.exiftool.asdict()" --print "{exiftool:XMP:Creator}"

Or query on a value:

These values are not stored in the Photos database AFAIK so there is nothing to push -- or am I misunderstanding what you're asking?

For some photos, Photos does store additional EXIF/IPTC metadata including Copyright in the ZEDITEDIPTCATTRIBUTES table. OSXPhotos does not process this table. In my library there are only a handful of rows in this table and all appear to be associated with photographs taken by professional photographers then imported into Photos. Interestingly, exporting the original of one of these and re-importing does not populate the table so I'm not sure what triggers the table update. I don't have time to deep dive into this table but if you're able to figure it out, I'm happing to consider a PR or an issue for this. But it's not a priority to me as in my 47,000 asset library, there are only 6 rows in this table and all from the same grouping of photos.
