Review/update submission form (flow & experience page):make sure that expectations about what will be used directly in published resource or not are clear; reword any questions as needed;
update picklist options & other metadata (categories should align with our best practices);
clarify that SF Help, Trailhead shouldn't be submitted unless there is a really good reason

7/18 - No update/progress. Shira and John will coordinate a time to work on it.

Update 8/1: Shira and John have met a few times. Ideas:

  • Tips for submitters sidebar
  • Split into different screens to guide submitters through process
  • Change order of questions to better guide people to give answers that are what we need and types of resources we need. For example, start with "what type of resource" to help people think about how the resources could be used.

Questions to group:

  • Any changes in types/quality of submissions recently?
  • Continue to get resources that aren't higher ed/nonprofit specific.

Made some updates to the mockup based on feedback from last meeting

  • removed categories page - feedback was that this part of form is can be confusing to submitters and might be better done by curators.
  • Added more detailed questions to the submission page (these need to be further revised) - feedback was that more direct questions might get better responses from submitters. Plan would be for the

Feedback

  • Maybe the form could be reduced to one or two screens to reduce number of clicks - it is much shorter than previous form.
  • Maybe have a custom question depending on the type of resource (how has this helped you/what did you learn/What problem did it solve?
  • Next Step: JK will build a screen flow using this format and we can test it with some users to get feedback.

Notes from July 18 that were accidentally posted to a different card:

Suggestions shared during SCR call:

Keep the initial screen of type of resource - Maybe add some new categories.
Remove the categorization metadata fields - Let the curators do the categorization
Change the resource questions to guide the submitter to share more information about the resource and how it used. Curators will use responses to create the Resource Title and Description
Consider making the resource questions more contextual/customized to type of resource selected in the first screen.
Next Steps:

JK will update the mockup and share on Slack for feedback on revised format and questions. Revisit at next meeting.
Build a new screen flow for testing with users.
