Hi,
I am investigating the real requirement in industry.
Currently, Assistant Automatic is their target because those factories have high product variety, low production volume, frequent rush orders, and high changeover costs.
Hence, I think the following function need to be implement:

Order due date: The deadline by which the customer expects the product to be completed and delivered.
Machine capacity: The maximum amount a machine can produce within a given period of time.
Work shifts: The working hours, shift structure, and staffing levels assigned to employees.
Changeover / mold change time: The downtime required to switch a production line or mold from one product to another.
Material availability: Whether the required raw materials, components, or semi-finished goods are ready and available for production.
Bottleneck workload: How busy or overloaded the most critical and capacity-constrained process or workstation is.
Priority and rush orders: Which orders should be processed first, and how to reschedule when urgent orders are inserted.

The total workload is between 10 to 20 days according to my rough plan.

Thank you for the detailed breakdown — this clarifies the requirement a lot.

To be transparent: the current version of the system does not include an APS module. We have basic load planning (Gantt view, Kanban board, task tracking), but none of the seven constraints you listed are modeled today — no machine capacity, no shift calendar, no changeover matrix, no bottleneck detection.

That said, I'm not closing the door. If the specification gets tighter and there is a confirmed need from a specific client, I'm open to scoping and implementing it incrementally.

A few questions that would help me evaluate feasibility:

Is there a specific client already requesting this, or is this still exploratory?
Would a manual-first approach work (operators input the schedule, system flags conflicts) before building any automation?
What would the minimum viable version look like for them?
Happy to discuss further once the requirement is more defined.

Thank you for the clarification. I understand that the current system does not include a full APS module today, and that the existing features are mainly load planning, Gantt view, Kanban board, and task tracking.

a. Yes, a specific client already request this function. this is currently based on an internal manufacturing planning requirement.
b. Yes, a manual-first approach work. however, we would also trying to retrieve those information from oracle DB.
c. the minimum viable version I am thinking of for Phase 1 is,

1. Valid demand extraction
   Read valid sales order demand from ERP/MES, for example confirmed orders from xmda_t / xmdc_t.
2. Net demand calculation
   Calculate the remaining demand by deducting delivered quantity, transferred quantity, manual closed quantity, and closed or cancelled lines.
3. Recursive BOM explosion
   Use abmm210 to expand parent items into child items recursively, including multi-level BOM structures.
4. Initial workload / lead time estimation
   Estimate workload based on quantity, cycle time, fixed time, and transfer time. This is only for validation and visibility, not finite capacity scheduling yet.

Phase 1 will focus on demand‑to‑routing visibility and manual planning support. Department managers also need to know when production should be scheduled to meet target dates, so calculating lead time is required.

Phase 2: we might co‑work with Indian engineers to implement an automatic APS optimizer.

Would you be able to implement Phase 1 feature under current architecture?

WEM is an integrated ERP: it generates and owns its own production data. What you're describing, reading the demand and BOMs from your Oracle (Infor LX?) to generate a plan, is an APS scheduling engine connected to an existing ERP, not an ERP module. These are two different products. Please confirm: you are looking for an APS component that uses data from your current ERP, and not to use WEM as your ERP?

Hi Kévin,

Currently, our internal manufacturing uses DigiWin T100 as its ERP system. However, it costs $17,000 per year. They also need to implement MES, APS, and KPI systems themselves. As you mentioned, WEM is an integrated ERP that meets the factory’s requirements; however, they must extend WEM’s functionality to handle the constraints and complexity of customer demands. As a first step, we would like to extract parts of the WEM modules into DigiWin T100 due to tight development timelines.
