Gran Turismo 7 Support??

Lately I discovered that GT7 works on MOTION RIGS!! But so far only on Windows.
GT7 is compatible with motion rig ?

I know Monocoque isn't for Motion Rigs but the GT Planet community has figured out how to make many applications of the telemetry data from GT7. Most of the Python apps are working perfect on Ubuntu for me.

what motion rig do you have?

I think most of your links are for the telemetry data for GT7? ( I have some udp support i can use to add support for that into simapi, sure )

but i'm guessing you'd want the rig to work too, it sounds like we'd have to reverse engineer exactly how that works...
do you have access to one of the already supported sim titles?

Ok, are you saying Monocoque can already control Motion Rig for Asseto Corsa Project Cars and more on Linux? So you can run Motion Rig using Linux only?

no, i'm saying we already have support for simdata from those other sims on Linux.

we'd have to reverse engineer how to communicate with the motion rig. i'd be willing to work with you doing so if you're up to it. (e.g. using wireshark under windows to capture hid reports being sent to the device)

Ok that makes sense. Yeah think I get you. If the rig works on Assetto Corsa and Linux first then maybe it's possible to get the rig working on Gran Turismo and Linux at a later stage. Is that right?

I'm researching how to build a motion rig for GT7 atm. It is a steep learning curve. Only a week ago I found out is was even possible.

yes, you have to be able to tell the motion rig to do various things, pitch, yaw, etc.

you have to be able to communicate with the hardware to do these things first.

then you can use data from any game to determine when and what you want the hardware to do.

that's how monocoque currently works. it uses a simapi which takes data from various games, and then uses that data to make hardware do things.

true, i haven't noticed that GT7 has UDP telemetry now available.
since udp on monocoque works for other titles, it is technically possible to have monocoque use GT7 telemetry too.

about the motion rig compatibility: it doesn't work out of the box (with monocoque). someone would have to translate the data we have from telemetry and feed it to the motion rig's interface, whatever that may look like.
as Spacefreak said, we would need to reverse engineer the motion rig(s), and likely add another translation layer on top of already existing ones. at least that's how proprietary software like SimTools and Sim Racing Studio work on windows i imagine.

also, adding GT7 support specifically is a bit of an odd request. I didn't realize until now that it isn't available for PC. So you'd be playing on a Playstation, and then running monocoque on a separate PC or at best a raspberry pi, and then going to the devices on the rig and/or motion platform.

I think I currently only support doing udp connections on the local machine, but remote connections is the easy part.
