Trying to get Wheel LEDs working in game with telemetry data.

Hey there @suzucappo , would love to test the current state with my wheel (also R5), sadly I'm struggling with setting the right config.

What is needed to get this running in a minimal way ?

This is what I'm trying (obviously missing stuff):

• built simshmbridge and followed the readme for ams2 to get it running in the proton prefix
• built monocoque from your branch
• but i'm struggling with the config, this is what i gathered so far from src/monocoque/helper/confighelper.c

but as expected nothing happens, probably missing some stuff in the device config i guess?

Hi @tristandruyen,

You will need to make sure of what your device shows up as under devpath. You can use dmesg for that and then fill it in in the appropriate field in your config.

dmesg | grep tty

This is what I am using for my config file.

   configs = ({
   sim = "default";
   car = "default";
   devices = ( {
                    device       = "Serial";
                    type         = "Wheel";
                    subtype      = "MozaR5";
                    devpath      = "/dev/ttyACM0";
                    baud         = 115200;}

Just a side note that I should have mentioned. If it's still not working then your wheel may be reporting a different device ID.

My wheel reports with the same ID as the base, if yours still isn't working try changing the wheel ID in the moza.c file to 0x17.

I've got my RS wheel working with monocoque test -vv and the lights change when rpm values are sent.
Monocoque is also detecting and displaying correct gear/rpm values when running Assetto Corsa Evo, but the lights just turn off when launching the game and do not illuminate under any rpm value.

you probably didn't set up the shared memory, try some of the documentation:

if you first compile the shared memory compatibility exes found at here and then setup and build simd correctly, it should just work.

You don't necessarily need simd, it's just harder without it. If you read more on the simshmbridge readme, you'll see other methods.

I did some further digging, I was able to get everything working on the original AC, but for AC Evo looking at the console output it was getting the RPM value correctly in real-time but setting max RPM to 0 which breaks the code for light logic on the Moza ES wheel.

yeah that's just the state of development from the game i'm afraid...

Would it make sense when Max RPM is zero to have an auto-calibration that sets max to the highest RPM value seen?

i've been thinking about either doing that, or doing some sort of user specified configuration for per-car overrides. Because we've run into some sims now that don't seem to provide it at all.

i just committed this, in my limited testing in AC Rally, it worked better than expected.

i also regression tested, it didn't seem to break any stuff on AC standard.
