Searching for sim data... #35

Hi Spacefreak18,

I’m trying to get Monocoque working with ACC now on CachyOS (Arch) via Steam/Proton.

Current state:

  • ACC runs fine under Proton Experimental
  • /dev/shm/acpmf_physics, acpmf_graphics, acpmf_static, acpmf_crewchief are created
  • simd starts and lsof shows it has the acpmf_* files open
  • audio hardware / resonators work independently
  • but monocoque play always stays at:
Searching for sim data... Press q to quit...

So Monocoque never seems to receive usable live telemetry (no RPM / no active sim state).

/tmp/simd.log repeatedly shows:

  • Detected simulator id 805550, starting appropriate bridge if necessary.
  • Could not find one or all of the necessary environment variables. Found <tool paths> <compatdata path> (null)

What I need to know:

  1. What is the exact intended startup order for ACC on Linux/Proton?
  2. Is acbridge.exe required for ACC, or should ACC work directly?
  3. Which exact environment variables does simd expect here?
  4. If simd has acpmf_* open but monocoque still never leaves “Searching for sim data…”, what should I check next?

On Bazzite, Monocoque at least reached a state where it showed live RPM from ACC.
On CachyOS, it never leaves “Searching for sim data...”, even though simd opens the acpmf_* files.
So the key difference is not audio hardware, but that Monocoque never enters a real live telemetry state on CachyOS.

Thank you very much in advance!
