Hi,

I have MKV files under C:\Users\sahin\Videos\Movies path, and it's indexed as well however, plugin doesn't seem to recognize or locates video files.

Based on the #21 (comment) add-on's simply not working as expected or explained.

Hi, did you turn it on in the settings? There is option "enable local addon" it requires app restart

Thanks! I just enabled and it works now.
TBH, enabling a second level option for accessing local files is kind of looks odd. Local files should be accessible by default without waiting for a nearly hidden setting when the user has the local files add-on installed

@seahindeniz we thought so too and that was the default behavior for many years, but many users complained about the extra resource usage that the local addon sometimes uses when you have more video files to scan

Interesting, so the only solution is to enable it or disable it then 🤔
What about other alternatives like,

  • ability to focus on a single or multiple folder paths that user can define such as C:\Users\*\Videos and then using a some sort of watch functionality to watch changes under those folders and refreshing the library or instead of watch, manual triggering for scanning local files so that the scan issue can be solved?
  • or notifying the user by displaying a small description for explaining that the add-on requires enabling that option might also an option so that the user can at least know what to do next.
A description of texts can be placed there and there
