Stremio-Web Version

web.stremio.com

Browser

Safari

Platform / Device type

iOS PWA

What Happened?

When using web.stremio.com as a pwa or the web version I am unable to click the fullscreen button or make the video fullscreen. This causes my phone screen to go to sleep during playback.

Logs

Notes

This issue seems to occur when using both the PWA and web version on IOS.
when accessing web.Stremio.com we’re able to see the fullscreen button but it doesn’t do anything.

exemple: Image
using chrome for the exemple but fullscreen does not work on both safari and chrome

Hello, I second this. while on the web player, users can press 'F' to enter fullscreen, there appears to be no way to do this within the web app on touch based devices. on my iPad, I am not able to view contents as if it were native contents. The top bar remains purple within a PWA, and the navigation gesture never fades out. The iPad also goes to sleep after a period of time. Adding a button to enter a functioning fullscreen will help to resolve this. Background playback and PIP support may also be appreciated. I suppose this could be classed as more of a feature request than a bug. On my version of the PWA app, i see no fullscreen button at all

FYI, The newly released app on apple testflight may resolve the issues for now on.
It was recently announced on the latest stremio blog post.

But It would be nice to also have access to fullscreen on the PWA on iphone as well.
After looking it up it seems to maybe be because of a missing meta tag in the header🤔 .

The navigation bar is impossible to hide for now because there is simply no support to do it in the browser.
For the fullscreen we will investigate.
Here is a screenshot how it looks when using the PWA on an iPhone with the inbuilt player.
