Or to be able to match text inside the brackets?

Yes this is what I mean. But not replace round brackets with square brackets when there's a song title bracketed within. e.g., ("(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay" playing) should be ["(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay" playing]

Replace from (foobar) => [foobar] is easy detecting if the text inside the the parentheses is music
it's not that easy!

Only if there was some kind of character/symbols that could be used to identify if the text
inside is a music text...
