If Proton VPN labels and detects when Tribler is started, and flags it as peer-to-peer traffic, what does that say about its anonymity, and encryption? Any ISP thus would detect it immediately, isn't it? |

The way Proton VPN detects P2P is documented here: https://protonvpn.com/support/p2p-vpn-redirection Simply put, traditionally websites are served by a single server. So, if Proton VPN sees a single connection go out onto the Internet and a single server IP answers, this is "non-P2P" traffic. However, if it sees multiple IPs answer for a single outgoing connection, you are flagged as "P2P" and you get to pay Proton VPN more money. At no point in time is the anonymity or encryption broken. |
