As a mantainer, I use the Search & replace feature a lot to save work to translators when we do a small change that does not really impact translation. The most common case is updating broken links on our documentation, but it happens with other small changes. I like that I can review the changes with practical red/green diffs before committing, and sometimes I do a dry run with the search interface as well, to see if there are more strings that could be affected. At the end, the search filter can be quite elaborated, and also the strings to search and the replacement. For example:
But sometimes I make mistakes, that I can see clearly when I preview the changes. I want to change some small thing on my query, but is already gone. If I go back with the browser my previous query is blank, or a small 'edit query' button on the list of strings, to change a small detail. And I need to do the whole thing again. Could the form in https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/-/#replace save the fields, so it is easier to improve the query? If that were the case, it would save me a lot of time and clicking just to go back and change my original query. |
