Encapsulated newline symbols?

At (1) it seems there are two red boxes, one in another.
But typing a simple newline (2) there is only one redbox.

Why?

The original Python source strings has one newline only.

            'This version is a Release Candidate for testing before the '
            'next stable release.'
            '\n'
            'If you test this version, please provide feedback. Let us know '
            'if you found a problem or if everything worked as expected. Even '
            'a short test of a few minutes is helpful.'

I believe this is a rendering bug with the white space character tokens, will be fixed in #21138 when it's ready.
