cpu usage in BG mode almost tripled between 10.2 and 11.01

i had to downgrade back to 10.2 because of cpu usage, i use a really tight fan curve for my 5850x and i can't get the program to go lower than 3.5-5% cpu usage in bg mode even when im using the option to not to render the ui when the program is out of focus (was between 1.2-1.8% in 10.2)

That doesn't make sense. I have a less powerful cpu than that and in bg mode it uses nothing

how many games are you tracking?

here is 10.2 with 280 games

and here is 11.01 with the same list of games

I probably have an even more ancient CPU... AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T Processor @2.80 GHz

500+ games, and this is what I see on 11.0.1, and that is even with Rendering if unfocused turned on.
As an aside, how many games it's tracking doesn't even have any influence, it could be over 2000 and I'd still see the same.
The number of games only makes a difference when it's doing a refresh, it's not doing anything with the list when idling.
FYI, I even see the same if it's idling and NOT in BG Mode... I've to be actively forcing it to have it even use more than 0.5%.

Same but with GPU column enabled and after letting it settle for half an hour so memory use is slightly lower

I'm surprised it even uses CPU cycles at all in BG Mode for you.
I can't get it to use more than 0.1% even when it's refreshing while in BG Mode.
Only when I make the tray menu show does it go slightly over 1%.
I do see it's also using your GPU. Dunno if that's something you can control,
but am curious to see if CPU changes if you can prevent it from using the GPU.

just deleted the appdata folder and made a fresh install

That's why I asked if you have an option to prevent it using the GPU.
I honestly don't know if that's an option. The checker at least has no option for it.
I suspect there's some weird interaction.
And since it is using the GPU, there may be a driver influence.
