New user registration through dokuwiki is disabled

Hello,

I cannot seem to get new user registration working on my dokuwiki install.

When navigating to ?do=register on my site, it states that new user registration is disabled. The only auth plugin that is enabled is ldap. I tried using a "chainauth" plugin that stated it would be possible to use two auths consecutively to login (i.e. ldap + plain), but that completely locked me out of my site and I had to re-install. Is there any way to have new users register normally or do they all have to be registered manually through Yunohost administration?

This is an old topic, but it still seems to be occurring. I tried upgrading to the latest versions of yunohost (11.1.20) and dokuwiki (2023.04.04a~ynh1), with no luck. Is this a widespread yunohost issue or is it related to specifics of our set-up? (I haven't tweaked that much from the standard set-up though.) Would it be due to the email server not being set up (which the registration process may want to use)..?

I have the same issue. I'm not able to see register new user. If I install it outside yunohost it is working. Any workaround?

Hello all,

This package can only authenticate YunoHost users which are declared inside YunoHost's user panel because of how it's configuration¹ is done

Changing this behavior requires to:

1. Allow other authentication methods to be used and make it smooth for everybody. See Action scripts #41
2. In the mean time, install DokuWiki in a "custom" apps so the configuration is up to you. No LDAP by default tho

As said by @richbordoni , the authchained² plugin has to be used to change the logic.

The work on this was started in 2018 with the PR #41 and is unfinished. The DokuWiki logic should be the same but the YunoHost integration must be updated : The "config panel" part should be mature enough now.

I don't need this feature anymore and can't support it. A lot of time is required for the testing as well as maintening in the long run. See #84
