Code formatting, or markdown editing ?

In support conversation I often need to use code formatting in my replies, this does not seem to be predictable or documented.

There is no code block formatting issue, I was able to use triple back quote to switch to code, but couldn't find a way to end the block.

Also, it would be nice to have a way to customize text styles, code blocks are often too big comapred to normal text and look better with a couple points smaller.
