What happened?

I am seeing when testing that merged contacts in some cases seem to lose their custom objects. The event log timeline entry still exists saying it was linked but the link itself vanishes.

How can we reproduce this issue?

Step 1: Create a contact and have email unique identifier
Step 2: Create another one, attach some custom objects
Step 3: Merge the newer contact into the oldest - custom objects disappear
