error in convert

Hello,

I'm working in Linux/Ubuntu

i got error then i try to convert the data to raw

Command:
simg2img userdata.img userdata_raw.img

Error message:
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
Failed to read sparse file

Something i do wrong?

Can it be the file is defekt??

@007fred50 most likely the img file is corrupted. But if you can uploaded somewhere I can double check.

@007fred50 what android version were you trying to convert exactly? because I get this exact output when trying this on https://dl.google.com/developers/android/rvc/images/gsi/gsi_gms_arm64-exp-RPB2.200611.009-6625208.zip (android 11 GSI image)

so you do not know the android version you were trying to flash. Or do I understand it incorrectly then?

I found out fake specs on the device Android 10.
The real Android was 6.

It could be the file is already converted. This is my system.img from:
Microsoft Surface Duo
Android 10
Build Number 2021.721.41

When I run file on the system image, this is the result:
system.img: Linux rev 1.0 ext2 filesystem data, UUID=3dc9e73d-c9c2-5764-89e7-0426672bbdb9 (extents) (64bit) (large files) (huge files)

System image is show as a Linux filesystem instead of Android sparse image, the image type that this program is supposed to convert. Except mine's in ext2 instead of ext4

I have the same error when I try to parse a super.img (Android sparse image, version: 1.0, Total of 2048000 4096-byte output blocks in 8527 input chunks.)from a firmware(Android 11), with error as:

# ./simg2img super.img super.raw.img
