Questions about the configuration kyuubi.engine.pool.size

Hello! I have a question about the configuration kyuubi.engine.pool.size :

As shown in the official docs

The size of the engine pool. Note that, if the size is less than 1, the engine pool will not be enabled; otherwise, the size of the engine pool will be min(this, kyuubi.engine.pool.size.threshold).

Since the default value is -1 and the share level is USER, I assume the engine pool is not enabled and I only get one driver for one user. However, when I use beeline to start multiple connections with the same user eric, I get two drivers:

kyuubi-user-spark-sql-eric-engine-pool-1-5fc91ba5-f25f-4a56-b2be-5717d2d66e91-driver

I'm wondering whether I misunderstand this configuration?

your understanding is correct. your driver pod name pattern *-engine-pool-0-* indicates that you enable the engine pool feature, otherwise it should be *-default-*.

those configurations are allowed to be overridden by client conf, have you set them from JDBC URL?

No, I haven't overridden any configurations through the JDBC URL. May I ask whether there are some other configurations I could use to disable the engine pool?

No, as the conf desc said, setting kyuubi.engine.pool.size to 0 or a negative value would disable that.
