Hey guys I have a question. I have 55 leds of ws2812b, and a esp sharing a common ground. My question is if it's possible for my laptop's usb port to power the strip? (Esp being powered by a separate port) I've tried it for a minute and it seemed to work fine, even in high brightness situations But i want your opinion if this is safe? Or am I better off using a seperate power supply for the led strip? |

This is the worst case scenario. If you have a multi-meter you can measure actual current when displaying full white color (for sk6812 is more complicated). |
