The documentation in this link says Add the appropriate environment variables to the device. Now on the web interface I see "Device variables" and inside "Device Configuration" I see yet another set of variables (Custom configuration, currently having RESIN_* variables). None of them are listed as "environment variables".
I will guess that in this case is "Device variables". Ideally the documentation should match.
