When setting timezone via GUI apps or even by symlinking /etc/localtime to /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Chicago the time sets back to UTC. This is causing issues and I don't know how to fix it. Thanks!

Context: I was having trouble setting the timezone and this was originally an issue but now it's a suggestion.

It works fine when setting the hardware clock to the right time but the OS keeps syncing them to be the wrong time.

It goes back to being in GMT time after my laptop locks. It might have something to do with KDE?

I fixed it by setting the timezone in Bedrock Linux's config file, not the easiest way to do it but it still works. You should prompt for the timezone in the hijack command or make symlinking change the conf file.
