Help needed in understanding the output bits of the 4D LETKF yaml file

I get lost on how the time dimension is handled.
LocalEnsembleDA.h starting from line 188 becomes pretty obscure to me.
Where does the different itime get routed ? Are we overwriting the same file for all the times ?
I end up with increments which do not correspond to the difference between the analysis and the prior mean.
I sense I've something very wrong even if I have copied on the "reg" example.

After a long nightly battle I think I've understood most of it and realized that Fields.cc and FieldsIOBSC.cc (and siblings) need some update for handling the date patterns and the "member" configuration entry.
I've some dirty patches in my workdir. Discussion needed.
