In chrome, processNativeColorInputs fails to recognise that input[type=color] is supported. In my own project I changed
var colorInput = $("<input type='color' value='!' />")[0]; var supportsColor = colorInput.type === "color" && colorInput.value != "!";
to
var colorInput = $("<input type='color' value='!' />"); var supportsColor = colorInput[0].type === "color" && colorInput.val() != "!";
which did the trick.
