Move API code to claude-sonnet-5 / claude-opus-5 / claude-haiku-4-5, add the missing max_tokens to the agent-designer example, and fix context windows (Sonnet 5 and Opus 5 are 1M). The price tables in cost_estimator.py, token_counter.py, agent_evaluator.py, agent_orchestrator.py, prompt_optimizer.py and llm-pricing-guide.md now use current per-MTok prices: Fable 5.1 $10/$50, Opus 5.5 $4/$20, Opus 5 $5/$25, Sonnet 5 $2/$10, Haiku 4.5 $1/$5; cache reads at 0.1x input (Opus 5.5 $0.20, Fable 5.1 $0.25). The llm_integration_guide chain-of-thought row now points Claude users at adaptive thinking + effort. --- engineering/agent-designer/README.md | 3 +- engineering/agent-designer/agent_evaluator.py | 3 +- .../references/orchestration-patterns.md | 14 ++++----- .../references/routing-and-cost.md | 20 ++++++------- .../scripts/cost_estimator.py | 29 ++++++++++--------- .../scripts/workflow_visualizer.py | 8 ++--- .../references/llm-pricing-guide.md | 8 +++-- .../scripts/token_counter.py | 10 ++++--- .../references/llm_integration_guide.md | 6 ++-- .../references/tools-and-workflows.md | 4 +-- .../scripts/agent_orchestrator.py | 5 ++-- .../scripts/prompt_optimizer.py | 10 +++---- 12 files changed, 65 insertions(+), 55 deletions(-) diff --git a/engineering/agent-designer/README.md b/engineering/agent-designer/README.md index 5a023e7..f282e48 100644 --- a/engineering/agent-designer/README.md +++ b/engineering/agent-designer/README.md @@ -377,7 +377,8 @@ with open('my_tools_anthropic.json') as f: # Use with Anthropic tool use client = anthropic.Anthropic() response = client.messages.create( - model="claude-3-opus-20240229", + model="claude-opus-5", + max_tokens=16000, messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Search for AI news"}], tools=schemas['tools'] ) diff --git a/engineering/agent-designer/agent_evaluator.py b/engineering/agent-designer/agent_evaluator.py index 709171c..69096ea 100644 --- a/engineering/agent-designer/agent_evaluator.py +++ b/engineering/agent-designer/agent_evaluator.py @@ -223,7 +223,8 @@ def _define_cost_benchmarks(self) -> Dict[str, Any]: "token_costs": { "gpt-4": {"input": 0.00003, "output": 0.00006}, "gpt-3.5-turbo": {"input": 0.000002, "output": 0.000002}, - "claude-3": {"input": 0.000015, "output": 0.000075} + "claude-opus-5": {"input": 0.000005, "output": 0.000025}, + "claude-sonnet-5": {"input": 0.000002, "output": 0.00001} }, "operation_costs": { "simple_task": 0.005, diff --git a/engineering/agent-workflow-designer/references/orchestration-patterns.md b/engineering/agent-workflow-designer/references/orchestration-patterns.md index 9937f68..b259493 100644 --- a/engineering/agent-workflow-designer/references/orchestration-patterns.md +++ b/engineering/agent-workflow-designer/references/orchestration-patterns.md @@ -22,7 +22,7 @@ class PipelineState(TypedDict): stage_costs: Annotated[list[dict], "append"] # accumulates cost per stage def research_stage(state: PipelineState) -> dict: - model = ChatAnthropic(model="claude-sonnet-4-20250514", max_tokens=2048) + model = ChatAnthropic(model="claude-sonnet-5", max_tokens=2048) result = model.invoke( f"Research the following topic thoroughly.
