The goal of the City SDK project is to streamline the creation of open data apps for cities. The areas of focus are: helper functions, GeoJSON support, interoperability, visualization, and open-source.
We're excited to host the first Civic Leaders Meet Up at 18F on Wednesday April 15th! Web conference info will be provided to accommodate remote attendees.
Topics for this meeting are:
-
Open Data App Spotlight - "Detailed Economic Window", a Product of District Data Labs Incubator Program
-
National Day of Civic Hacking Themes
-
City SDK Update - Learn about what's shaping up for the May beta release (focus areas: helper functions to optimize code, interoperability, GeoJSON, visualization, and open-source)
This project was inspired by our friends in the EU who created a City SDK for Europe.
This project is led by the US Census Bureau in collaboration with other federal and local government entities, as well as private industry.
