What device is SLOS for?

In the book, it says it is an embedded system. Could you also use SLOS for computers?

Hi, Thanks for your question.
Before adding my answer, how do you define "computers"? Generally speaking, embedded system is also a computer.
In the book, I defined different purpose of OSes, and SLOS is also one of them. Currently SLOS is tested/developed with Coraz7 Zynq7000 dual core board.

Hi, I believe that in terms of expanding the potential audience of the book it would be worth to support Raspberry Pi as something less exotic and especially QEMU which allows to emulate any architecture, much more convenient for prototyping and debugging and allows to start even without any device.

The book and the code looks very promising, but at first glance dependency on Vivado IDE and the requirement to configure the board looks a little excessively for me - personally I'd prefer to launch QEMU and study OS development step-by-step from simple bootloader to something working - and only then as a an optional lesson - to run it on some real hardware, especially so exotic one.

I may mistake - I haven't read the book yet, but it's the first impression after a quick look through the book.

Yeah, I agree. QEMU, rpi are good way to expand this, but unfortunately I don't have enough bandwidth to do all those.
It's pretty welcome and open if you start it and I may collaborate with you.
