Searching private artifact repositories

Can jpm be configured to search a private artifact repository (e.g. Nexus or Artifactory) in addition to or in place of Maven Central?

Right now there isn't. jpm uses a search option provided by Maven Central itself so by definition it's limited to it..

There is another option that I looked into some time ago, which is to use the search feature provided by Maven itself. But it's so limited that for a bunch of tests I did it often failed to return useful information.

For example, by default Maven Central orders results by "popularity", while the Maven search API doesn't, meaning the most useful results might be buried pages deep in the list.

But even worse, the API will often not return expected results. For example searching for "snakeyaml" will return dozens of results, but the official org.yaml:snakeyaml is not among them. Which makes the API useless IMO. But I would happily be proven wrong because I'd love for jpm to be able to search other repositories besides Maven Central.

Of course another option would be to specifically add support for Nexus/Artifactory search APIs. I'm not sure if there are publically available servers to test against.
