How to properly use Continue Credits after switching from subscription to BYOK (VoyageAI models)?

💬Hi team,

I was previously using Continue under the model subscription plan, but now I’ve switched to Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) mode.
At the same time, I’ve received 40 Continue Credits, and I’m trying to understand how to actually use them correctly.

From my understanding, it looks like I should be able to simply add models from the built-in list and Continue would automatically deduct credits when using them.
In practice though, these models still require me to provide my own API key, which makes the credits effectively unused.

Here’s what I’m trying to achieve:

• Embeddings: voyageai/voyage-code-3
• Reranking: voyageai/rerank-2

However, both seem to require an API key even though I expected the credits to cover their usage.

Hi @kremonia thanks for sharing the details. What exactly are you seeing when Continue requires an API key for the Voyage models? Was there a 401 error somewhere, or were embeddings not working? As far as I know we have these models set up as mentioned in that list to be used in the models add-on

Actually haven't tested the API directly. I basically made assumptions that credits should reduce at least during the day. But they didn't. I have several models for that role maybe it interferes.
Are there any endpoints to test the API with Postman?
