How to build for multiple kernel configurations?

In a Linux distribution there is no end to people using special kernel configurations

• pae and lpae on 32bit
• kernel with different preempt setting
• kernel with different page size
• mainline and LTS kernels
• ...

I see no information on how to build the kernel modules for multiple kernel trees.

As a workaround the more exotic kernel tree can be skipped but with mainline vs LTS there is no clear winner.

Can the CoreFreq build system support building the modules for multiple kernel trees?

I'm also facing cases where I'm fully rebuilding CoreFreq for the purpose of testing kernels (next, CachyOS)
Indeed, they are handled manually. Although I'm providing basic environment variables such as KERNELDIR

Except Buildroot and Yocto, I've no example in mind about a kernel module Makefile strategy to manage that problem. Do you ?
