I would like to propose to modify Databend and make that instead of two separate applications would be just one.

Additionally, the server instances should be run default in background and all logging should be done into file instead of to console.

This way the usage will become more easier and console more tidy 🙂

Thanks for the proposal.
Databend keeps databend-meta and databend-query as two separate services, so we are not planning to merge them.
If your goal is a cleaner console and background run, you can do it today with file logging + daemonization:

[log.file]
on = true
dir = "/var/log/databend"
level = "INFO"
format = "text"

[log.stderr]
on = false

databend-query.toml

[log.file]
on = true
dir = "/var/log/databend"
level = "INFO"
format = "text"

[log.stderr]
