Hi,
I was interested in building a receiver with my 10 year old grandson, when I was his age I built a crystal radio, now I am 71 years old, it has been a long time. I saw your project and I liked it for its simplicity of construction, the firmware is more complicated to understand, but it is very efficient.
We had fun building it together. Our outdoor antenna is an amplified loop, it has a lot of gain, to obtain results that do not saturate the R.F. input when we receive strong signals, it is necessary to use an attenuator.
The 2.4" display is a stimulus for my grandson because he sees radio station signals represented on the screen, but it also generates bird whistling noises. This does not bother him, but I prefer to listen to the receiver without the display, which does not produce whistling noises. The result of our work is the pictures you see. Now my grandson is a little more interested in the world of radio, I hope that his hobby continues over time. Thank you for designing hardware and software and making it available to everyone.
Regards
José María

@Haranochi Thanks very much for sharing! It's a great build and I am so glad you were able to share it with your grandson. A perfect example of what this project is all about :-)
