NAME
ShowProc - Lists information about tasks and processes.
FORMAT
ShowProc [VERSION] [ALL|SYSTEM|CLI] [FULL|TCB|SHORT]
[[PROCESS] <process #>] [COMMAND <command>|<pattern>]
TEMPLATE
VER=VERSION/S,ALL/S,SYS=SYSTEM/S,CLI=SHELL/S,F=FULL/S,TCB/S,
S=SHORT/S,PROCESS/N,COM=COMMAND/K
PATH
C:ShowProc
FUNCTION
ShowProc lists currently running tasks and processes along with
various details about each one. It is intended to be an improvement
over the AmigaOS STATUS command.
ShowProc outputs information in an easy-to-read table view. It shows
additional information (compared to STATUS) such as, for example, how
much stack a task/process is using. It also allows you to use standard
AmigaOS wildcards when searching for a Shell/CLI process.
ShowProc defaults to showing detailed information about all tasks
and processes. Running ShowProc with the CLI and SHORT options will
make it most resemble the default view of the AmigaOS STATUS command.
1> ShowProc CLI SHORT
OPTIONS
The following options are provided to control what ShowProc
outputs to the console. If multiple output formats are provided,
ShowProc will use the most verbose one, with the exception of the
COMMAND option which overrides all others.
COMMAND > FULL > TCB > SHORT
Similarly, if multiple process lists are provided, ShowProc will use
the most inclusive one.
ALL > SYSTEM > CLI
VERSION or VER
Outputs the program name, revision and revision date, then exits.
ALL
Outputs both SYSTEM and CLI information as separate tables.
SYSTEM or SYS (default)
Outputs information about all tasks and processes.
CLI or SHELL
Outputs information about Shell/CLI processes.
This view shows additional Shell/CLI specific information such
as the current FAILAT level, last return code and if it is
running in the background.
FULL or F (default)
Outputs detailed information about each task or process.
TCB
Outputs the same information as FULL except it omits the
task/process name.
SHORT or S
Outputs only the process number and task/process name (if any).
PROCESS <process #>
If a <process #> number (1-999) is provided, ShowProc will
show information about only that process. A process number
can be provided with or without the PROCESS keyword.
COMMAND or COM <command>|<pattern>
You can search for a process using a command name or wildcard
pattern. If found, the Shell/CLI number is output and the
program return code is set to 0 (SUCCESS). If all processes
have been searched and a match hasn't been found, the return
code is set to 5 (WARN). Otherwise, the return code will be
set to 20 (FAIL).
