AETHER Deep Technical Audit Report

This report outlines the technical completeness of AETHER's JIT compiler, runtime execution, and standard library components, specifically focusing on quantum computing capabilities.

1. Compiler Gaps

  • Working Compiler Core: Lexing, parsing, and AST generation are fully implemented and verified via Rust unit tests.
  • Mock Lowering: Target statement execution is simulated in-process inside a JIT simulation loop (MOV, ADD, IMUL, etc.).
  • Error Diagnostics: Error logs show parsing issues but lack line and character token span highlighting.

2. Quantum Features Audit

  • Qubit Declarations: Standard qubit declarations are parsed, but states are not maintained in a mathematically rigorous complex amplitude vector.
  • Entanglement: The compiler prints Bell state representations |Ψ⁺⟩ but does not perform actual matrix tensor products or phase alignment.
  • Wave-Function Collapse: Measurement collapses to fixed random values without calculating complex amplitude probabilities.
  • Gate Support: Hadamards, Pauli-X/Y/Z, CNOT, CZ, and multi-qubit permutations are parsed but not simulated in state vectors.

3. Runtime & Standard Library Gaps

  • Timeline Speculations: UCG speculates timeline cost models but locks threads sequentially.
  • Standard Library Modules: Standard files like collections.aether, crypto.aether, net.aether define APIs but contain mock returns.

4. Mitigation Focus

This audit informs the AETHER Quantum Enhancement Plan to establish complex matrix state vector simulation in the compiler runtime.
