Unable to start installer while behind company proxy

Hi,

When I run the Docker Toolbox 1.9.1i installer while connected to the network, the icon appears in the taskbar but no setup window ever renders, and Task Manager shows the installer as "Not Responding". The installer log (running the installer with /LOG) is at http://pastebin.com/pF2nUevM but wasn't very helpful.

However, if I disconnect from the corporate network (either wired or wireless) the setup window renders immediately, and starting the installer again starts up immediately as well. In addition, if I use the guest wifi (which I don't think is proxied), the installer also works as expected, and installation completes correctly.

The company proxy does not use authentication and is configured to auto-detect in the Internet Options setting. Operating system is Windows 7 SP1.

I am experiencing the same issue. Although I have no way to install without proxy (no guest wireless here).

• OS: Windows 7 SP1
• Docker Toolbox Installer: DockerToolbox-1.9.1i.exe

Same issue for me on Windows 8.1 behind a corporate proxy. The quick workaround was to edit my "host" file to point "api.mixpanel.com" to localhost.

I know nothing about Windows programming, and even less about the Inno Setup installers, but I suspect the problem is in this section:

The installer tries to contact that "api.mixpanel.com" site with a "WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1" object and hangs waiting for a response. After some searching, it seems that "WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1" does not properly use the proxy settings. See here for more information:

Not sure if that's all accurate, but just wanted to shed some light on the issue.

@JeffDM ? mixpanel can cause failure to start? that sounds particularly unhelpful :)

This also occurs with the 1.10.1 installer under windows 8.1. There's also a point at the end of the install process where it will hang if behind a proxy.

I'm not experiencing any problems with Docker in general, but I have noticed these mixpanel requests melting my logs!
