Building an ASP .Net app for Android

I still wonder why it isn't possible to build an ASP .Net app for Android.

Here is the error message when trying:

error NETSDK1082: There was no runtime pack for Microsoft.AspNetCore.App available for the specified RuntimeIdentifier 'android-x64'

• as Android is a Linux like, why this limitation?
• is there any chance to see an Android implementation one day?

I read about some workarounds, but none worked:

• use of proot or UserLAnd to install a Linux distro on Android
• use of docker

I didn't try workarounds that imply to root the device, because it wasn't adapted to my requirements.

Any explanation or advice is welcome!

ASP.NET Core isn’t supported on android-*. Microsoft doesn’t ship Microsoft.AspNetCore.App for Android.
You shuold host your API on a supported OS or use .NET for Android/MAUI/Blazor instead.
