Modifying own repo with patch-file

While we wait for the release of V16 which will make available all the fixes that is currently in "develop" branch, I did something which I would like to verify.

One of the PRs ( 676 ) is about a fix on "Therapy Plan". I would like this fix but on V15 and from what I see this has not been backported.

The process I followed was :

1. Create my own repo
2. Cloned version-15-hotfix to my local machine
3. Pushed this to my repo
4. Download "patch-file" for PR 676
5. Applied patch to local machine ( git apply --3way pr676.patch )
6. I had to manually fix some of the files that had conflicts.
7. bench build, bench migrate, bench restart

Accesing my deskview, all seems to be working fine.
Is this a valid procedure ?
