Incomplete list of K1 Patches

Hi there,

I am looking to sell my ageing Atari ST and I am hoping to use edisyn to back up all my K1 Patches. Actually it's a K1 II but the issue would be the same with the original K1.

I am able to successfully download all of the Multi Patches both in the synth and on the Expansion Card, but I am not able to download the individual Single Patches.

All the download options seem to only address the Multi Patches. I cannot see any way to download single patches from the synth

Example . . .

Action: Right click Librarian Tab, select Download All Patches from Synth
Result: Only the internal and External Multi Patches are downloaded
Issue: None of the single patches are downloaded

There are 128 Single Patches in the synth . . .
IA1 - ID8
iA1- iD8
EA1 - ED8
eA1 - eD8

Confusingly on the K1 the Multi Patches are Labled
IA1 - ID8
EA1 - ED8
But they are accessed by pressing a different button on the synth.

If you could address this or tell me what I am doing wrong I would be very grateful.

Secondly, and much less important to me, personally, (and probably connected with the inability to download single patches), there doesn't appear to be any ability to edit single patches.

Jason, this a question best mailed to me directly -- see my email address on the front page of the manual.

1. What operating system are you using? What is your USB interface?
2. In the K1 editor, can you download a single patch succesfully using "Request Patch..."?
3. In the K1 librarian menu, can you download a bank using the command "Request Bank from Synth"?

It appears that I have been a bit of an idiot. I was using "K1 (Multi)" option, and I needed to be using "K1". With the correct option It seems to be working fine.

My ADHD tends to trip me up like this sometimes.

I do apologise for wasting your time like this and I really do appreciate your time.

I have a couple of suggestions if you don't mind:
If it is not possible to combine Multi and single Patches into one instance then could you possibly name the options "K1/K1r/K1m (Single Patches)" and "K1/K1r/K1m (Multi Patches)" Just to make it a bit more obvious for people like me.

Also, I think that it would be nice to have the Librarian tab permanently showing as screen space isn't really an issue these days.

I'll give the suggestions some consideration, but a bit of pushback on each of them. A number of synthesizers aren't multitimbral; so I decided long ago that a non-multitimbral synth Foo would have an editor called Foo, and multitimbral synths would have their single-mode patches also called Foo to be consistent. But I'll think about it.

As to the Librarian tab -- the Librarian was added long after Edisyn was out. Maybe I should have it on all the time, but an additional tab actually causes problems for certain patch editors with lots of tabs on small screens. And a number of synths don't have Librarians at all. So I have to mull that over too.
