Clarification on Cheque Bounce Handling in Payment Module with POS Integration

Dear Team,

I am currently starting work on the Payment Module and planning to integrate POS (Point of Sale) system into the flow.

In this context, I would like to clarify the following:

Cheque Bounce Scenario:
If a cheque is submitted as a payment method and it gets bounced later, does the system:

• Automatically add a penalty or fine to the corresponding account?
• Is there any built-in logic in DIGIT that handles cheque bounce cases?

Please let me know if this flow is already implemented or needs to be handled externally.

Cheque bounce handling is not available by default in the DIGIT platform. However, a similar use case has been managed in other implementations. Please follow the steps below:

Search and Cancel Receipt
DIGIT provides the capability to search for receipts generated in the system. Use this feature to locate the receipt associated with the bounced cheque and proceed to cancel it.

Enhance: Capture Cheque Bounce Reason
If the payment was made via cheque, provide the user an option to cancel the receipt with the reason marked as "Cheque Bounce".

Apply Cheque Bounce Charges
Ask the end user to input the applicable cheque bounce charge amount. This amount should be added to the concerned property as an additional cheque bounce charge as new header. This should be your part of calculator service.

Create Demand Reason
Prepare a demand reason object using the relevant tax head master to configure the cheque bounce charges. This ensures the bounced cheque penalty is tracked and billed appropriately.
