Malformed EC numbers are not caught

Hi everyone,

I just did another test run with one of my genomes.
I got it back from one of the curators, due to an error (well, multiple), but one of them was a malformed EC number, which was not caught by the validator, version 1.1.179

The validator seems no not catch the following entries:
FT /EC_number="1.1.1.1-"
FT /EC_number="1.1.1."
FT /EC_number="1.1.-.1"

Hope this can be fixed at some point :).

Hi Bastian,
Thank you for reporting it.

EC_number validation check can only be done internally, because it requires database connection.

Public validator cannot pick /EC_number validations.

Ah, yeah, that makes some sense to me, although I think it should be possible to catch the obvious wrong ones (like the one I gave as example).

We will double check if we have a regexp check in place for EC numbers.
