Support for FM/AM Radio?

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a headunit for my old Escape, and I definitely want to retain access to FM radio without juggling multiple separate units. Does LIVI support something like RTL-SDR or are there plans to add such support in the future?

I’m open to implementing this, but unfortunately I don’t own an SDR. Personally, I never use FM/AM. I think the last time I listened to the radio was probably more than 20 years ago. However, I think DAB+ could be a useful feature, as it offers much better audio quality and supports additional information (this would of cause include FM/AM support).

So if someone is willing to provide an SDR (with DAB+ support), I’d be happy to take a look into it.

From what I can see, DAB+ is a common standard with the exception of North America (because of course we have to be different!), so it'd be worth keeping HD Radio support in mind as well 😅

I was already toying with the idea of SDR usage for other smart home things, so perhaps I can learn this a bit myself.

HD Radio is the DAB equivalent in North America. It provides the extra metadata for whatever is playing such as album art, and song data.
