Description

Description of the Issue:
When I run Files App with Administrator privileges, I am unable to use the drag and drop feature to copy files, and I receive an error message as shown in the attached image.

Context:

  • I am using Windows 11, version [insert your Windows version 22H2, build 26100.3194
  • I am using Files App 3.9.1.0
  • I have tried the following steps to resolve the issue: running Files App without Administrator privileges, adjusting UAC (User Account Control) settings, and restarting Windows, but the problem persists.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Files App and run it as Administrator (right-click > Run as Administrator).
  2. Attempt to drag and drop a file from one folder to another or to the Desktop.
  3. Observe the error message: "Files is running as administrator. Due to a limitation with Windows and WinAppSdk, drag and drop isn’t available when running Files with Administrator. If you wish to use drag and drop, you can work around this limitation by opening UAC (User Account Control) from the Start Menu and selecting the third level, and restarting Windows. Otherwise, you can keep using Files without drag and drop."

After re-reading the issue, I see that you did say you have followed the instructions in the dialog, sorry for seeming careless.
Since we're continuing in #14498 for future issues please don't make your own categories in the description box as the forum already has them. As it only makes it harder to read with lots of duplicated text.
