FINOS meetings involve participation by industry competitors, and it is the intention of FINOS and the Linux Foundation to conduct all of its activities in accordance with applicable antitrust and competition laws. It is therefore extremely important that attendees adhere to meeting agendas, and be aware of, and not participate in, any activities that are prohibited under applicable US state, federal or foreign antitrust and competition laws. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
FINOS project meetings may be recorded for use solely by the FINOS team for administration purposes. In very limited instances, and with explicit approval, recordings may be made more widely available.
1. Re-name the DPBE WG to simply be the Derivatives WG, continued to be chaired by ISDA
2. Collapse the structured product WG and cover those products within the Derivatives
3. Ensure topics which are recognisably x-product or of a truly fundamental design nature are taken to the CRWG
4. Maintainers & members of the community can call out issues with non-following of PR approval process to the Maintainers mail list for clarification
5. Have a standing agenda point for release review monthly within the CRWG, allowing remainder of agenda time at each fortnightly meeting to be x-product/design topics.
6. For topics which require more frequent or in-depth discussion the CRWG can appoint a subject taskforce.
7. Appoint a permanent chair for the CRWG to aid in consistency (under discussion)
TH was in favor of the CorporateAction. JB will update his environment/code (including the Transfer proposal) to make it work.
Name and scope of the WG – important changes
the group agreed to the change of name to Derivatives WG, the new scope and all the other changes listed above. x-product items will be moved to the CRWG. There were no objections. We clarified that the Derivatives WG can also appoint subject taskforces as needed (not only the CRWG). The result of the TF can be moved directly to the CRWG.
Leo provided clarification on the rationale behind the changes. The change aim to reduce bottlenecks and duplication of efforts previously done between the DBPE and CRWG and speed the review of items by the CRWG.
UPDATE TO THE MINUTES 2025-01-29 @lolabeis emphasized an important change already communicated, and that is going to be enforced going forward:
contributions, pull requests, issues, that are fundamentally cross-products, or affect a fundamental component of the CDM, in any case, will have to go through the CRWG. Therefore some participants in the Derivatives WG will probably want to attend the CRWG, which is on alternating fortnight.
Suggested keeping tab on who is participating to either meeting and making sure that those participants that really should take part in the CRWG are nudged towards it as well.
Since it is a change compared to last year it may take a bit of time before participants adjust. So we should keep track of who's participating on either WG, and make sure that we have the right reps at the CRWG going forward.
Review the roadmap for 2025
Before we can update the diagram, we need to list the proposals on the table, prioritize them, agree on which ones to tackle.
List of proposals so far
Github cleanup - There were a number of outstanding PRs/issues from Fragmos. JB took a first pass at dividing them between Derivatives WG and CRWG (for cross-product proposals)
Fragmos proposals - JB presented an initial list of proposals (see Word doc). JB took an action to clean up, cross-check items against existing github PRs/issues.
There is an open call for proposals from other firms/members, for consideration
Book of work for 2025 would include proposals agreed to be worked on by the group. The group is not at this stage yet. The group will start discussing the BOW once we have a cleaned up list of proposals.
AOB - None
Action Items
JB will further clean up / organize the list of Fragmos proposals
all firms/members to make proposals for consideration in the 2025 book of work
Update to the minutes (discussed at the Derivatives WG 2025-01-29):
Leo emphasized an important change already communicated, and that is going to be enforced going forward:
contributions, pull requests, issues, that are fundamentally cross-products, or affect a fundamental component of the CDM, in any case, will have to go through the CRWG. Therefore we suspect that some participants in the Derivatives WG will probably want to attend the CRWG, which is on alternating fortnight.
Suggested keeping tab on who is participating to either meeting and making sure that those participants that really should take part in the CRWG are noted towards the CRWG as well. Because this is going to be the official channel.
Since it is a change compared to last year we suspect it may take a bit of time before participants adjust. So we should keep track of who's participating on either WG, and making sure that we have the right reps at the CRWG going forward.
