A window modal screen

How do i launch a modal screen in window size, not in full screen ?
A use case would be a numpad window to enter the pin code.

Can you elaborate what do you mean window size? What platforms?

right now modal screens are occupying entire screen, i want it to only cover a part of the screen, so you can still see the video playing on the background.
