Need to upgrade from version 3.0.4.x? #753

Heating season is upon us and doing some preps. I was wondering if there is good reason for me to upgrade from BSB-LAN, Version 3.0.4-20230217224441 towards the latest version? It is breaking and I need to put some time in it .... wondering if I should.
For now version 3.0.4 is working just fine for me. If there is a good argument to upgrade I will do the efforts :) Please advise. |

Short answer: Never change a running system.
Long(er) answer: Go through the ChangeLog and look out for functions/fixes that would make it worth for your to set up the system anew. That would include some (small) syntax changes in BSB_LAN_custom_defs.h. It may or may not include changes in your Home Assistant setup, depending on the MQTT topics (which have changed). If you know that you will not be using more/other functions compared to the ones you are using now, then there is not much reason to update. But, of course, if you generally want to be able to keep up-to-date, then more frequent updates in the future will make those changes less intrusive as you could do them one at a time (in…
