Instant crash on Steam Deck

When you run the game on Steam Deck with Steam's Proton, the game will open in an extremely small window as a black screen for a split second before instantly crashing. This doesnt happen when the .asi file is not in the scripts folder.

Ensure your game executable is version 9.6.0.0.
I'm trying to replicate this crash and see what happens.

Have you installed widescreen fix?

I have, if I only have the widescreen .asi in the scripts folder (and your radar mod), the game launches normally

Mmh, do you have a folder called "ufiles" in the root of your gta2 installation? If not make one and see what happens.
Also you sure you copied all the files? Maybe some textures are missing in the data folder.

I didn't, so I created the folder. However the game still crashes like before.

Try removing wndmode.ini and see if you installed the mod correctly, there are some textures in "data/frontend" that you may be missing.

I have removed wndmode.ini, and reinstalled all files in data/frontend, however it is still crashing as before. Here is the contents of my frontend folder.

After a few more tests on crossover, I sadly got to the conclusion that this mod ain't currently compatible with neither of two, I need to go through a few stuff, I will let you know when i'll get it working.

Still crashes at startup for me on Linux even with this

I'm having the same issue when trying to run the games with wine.

I... actually got it running a while ago I'm pretty sure, but I don't remember how 😭
