The OLS has an autocomplete widget written in javascript that could be implemented into the interface https://www.npmjs.com/package/ols-autocomplete .

Another option is to use the ols API library pointed by Simon on here https://pypi.org/project/ebi-ols-client (Python)

I think it is important to have this implemented, as we have restrictions over what ontologies we use and under what subclasses it should be
