No mention of Privacy Polices on the gitea downloadable software

Hello Gitea team,

This is Sahil, and I'm currently looking for local collaboration software and found Gitea to be the best fit for our needs.

I need approval from my team head to implement Gitea on our local system, and their main concern is whether the Gitea software collects any information from the local system. If it does, what kind of data is being collected?

I read your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, but most of the details seem related to the website and legal aspects—nothing specific about the Gitea software itself.

Could you please let me know:

What data (if any) does the self-hosted Gitea software collect or send?

Is there any documentation I might have missed?

Lastly, Thanks for building such an awesome project!

Selfhosted gitea instance does not collect or send any usage data if that's what you're asking about.
The only external call I'm aware of is the update check which can be set at install (opt-in) and it's a call to https://dl.gitea.com/gitea/version.json to check for version updates.
