Calendar in the UI

I wanted to sound out whether something like this is even feasible and desired before opening a formal feature request.
Push notifications were already requested in #683, so I wanted to ask if a calendar could also be added for planning and a better overview. I really like the anniversary feature on the home screen, but a calendar where you can see upcoming events a week in advance would be great, too.
And perhaps synchronization with Nextcloud or Google Calendar?
I realize that’s a lot to ask for right now, which is why I wanted to start a discussion first.

Some kind of calendar is definitely something we can think about. We just have to careful not to be too ambitious. If be "sync" you mean two-way sync à la CalDAV, that's certainly out of scope, but a one-way ICS subscription is something that is being worked on already: gramps-project/gramps-web-api#792.

Yeah, ICS would actually be enough for me personally, just a calendar with a UI for a clear overview, and the icing on the cake would be being able to view it in another calendar as well, but ICS is obviously sufficient for that.
