The end of goal of the GHC build infrastructure: zero unexpected failures on all tier 1 platforms at all times.

https://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/wiki/Platforms currently lists the following tier 1 platforms:

  • x86 Windows (MinGW)
  • x86 Linux
  • x86-64 Linux
  • x86 MacOS X
  • x86-64 MacOS X
  • x86 FreeBSD
  • x86-64 FreeBSD
