I was wondering if auto role swaps could happen. Like for onboarding if you click this button, you can change the role from new to regesterd. This would be a lifesaver and help with alot of onboarding of users.

So I want it to have a button for onboarding where when they click the button, they go to the wizard Jellyfin account creation but in Homer it switches their role from everyone to complete and then they have access to a different board and no longer the sign up board if that makes sense.

This is the flow I am looking for, currently box 1 3 and 5 is possible with Homarr. I was wondering if implementing what box 2 and 4 is possible and easy. It would be a huge help:)

Hmm okay, I think to achieve this we can only do the following:

• Improve the invite system, so you can give the user a role once he is joined
• Add api endpoints to manage groups of users so you can build a custom logic that gets a call when the sign up in jellyfin is done and adds the user the the complete group.

Homarr can't create a button that changes your role, because this would allow users to privilege escalate, but like I've described would be possible (and would only include things that other users also could use)

I agree with Meier, we can improve the invite system and add some API endpoints, but the rest will need to be implemented by you. For example, you can build a simple express or ASP.NET application that updates the roles of a user using the Homarr API. Workflows is not the core feature of Homarr and you will need to implement that yourself. Can you let us know whether the above described solution would work for you?

@olaff10 what is your opinion on our suggestions? Would that be a plan that we can move forward? If so we can convert this into an issue and a sub issue to it
